THE AMERICAN DREAM?

A BEGGARS BLOG

STILL BELIEVING IN AND LOOKING FOR THE AMERICAN DREAM

I at one time believed that if you go to school, work hard and believe in the Holy Father that all the things you can achieve in America will happen for you. Maybe I was naive or just over optimistic. Born in the early 1960s and living thru the 70s, 80s, 90s and now 10 years into a new century a lot of the basic things I believed have changed or maybe never really where. You can have an education, worked hard for decades and still know and believe that the Lord is with you and watches out for you but find yourself in a situation that all too many Americans are facing theses days. Almost homeless, broke, unemployed and knowing that the next job and payday are not even in site. I still believe that if you have a roof over your families head ,  food on their plates and clothes on their back you are fortunate. But now it has finally come to pass that will we have a roof next month? Our clothes are getting older and some to small and there is no money for anything new. The state we live in gracefully provides food stamps but barley enough and for how much longer?
Also fortunately I am a veteran and my country helps me with medical services that I require as over the years working hard has resulted in a bad back. I do know that at times the American people have come together to help its own, our citizens have a big heart and do help at times especially when our own government seems more inclined to help the wealthy and not the poor. That is why I am going to give a desperate cry out to all our generous and kind hearted people and ask for a helping hand. Normally I would never ask for charity, but times being what they are and my back against a wall I thought I would just TRY and see if there are people out there who would look kindly at the request of a family man who cries at the thought of my family NOT making it and puts out his hand and asks (anything you can spare?) and really mean THANK YOU for being so kind as to help out a fellow American who through bad times and unfortunate circumstances has fallen on his knees.
I don’t know if this will come to anything but I figured one has to try, I have sold most of what I own on ebay to pay the bills and do have a paypal account it is at    scott_kahl@yahoo.com and if even one dollar finds its way there, that is one dollar more than we had yesterday and we may make the rent this month or keep the electricity on another day.
AGAIN, I THANK any who took the time to read this and found it in their heart to help.
                                                                           GOD BLESS YOU (EVERYONE)
